About.com requires 5 business days to test and prop newsletter creative* prior to the scheduled drop date. All Superlist and Guidesite creative should conform to the following specs:
Solo Newsletter:
Client needs to provide both HTML Format & Text Format for Solo Newsletter.
HTML Format:
- 575 width x variable height (suggested range 480 - 960)
- Only regular ASCII text characters are acceptable. No Special HTML or MS character text or symbols (Example: the symbol for Euros)
- Size: No more than 25K
- Code: Must be error-free. No Comment Tags, Java, JavaScript, frames, ActiveX, dynamic HTML, meta tags, cascading style sheets or body background or image color.
- About.com lists its own opt out information, address and privacy policy. About.com will remove external opt-out information since it does not apply to About.com’s Email Lists.
- About.com uses ListServ to deliver Solo Newsletters
Text Format:
- Up to 25 lines, character limit 70 per line
- 10 unique links maximum for HTML and text.
- Client needs to provide subject Line for the Email - 60 characters maximum
Newsletter InPage Advertising:
- 160x600 Ad Unit & Click-thru URL
- Only GIF's, JPEG's, or Standard Third Party Redirects can be accepted
- No Flash, Rich Media or HTML creative
- 30K Max File Size
